Opeyemi Oladimeji is a development professional and practitioner with a strong background in nonprofit management and policy advocacy. With a passion for social impact and a drive to make a difference, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of underserved populations and advocating for systemic change.
He is also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School. Passionate about sharing his knowledge and experiences, he was a lecturer at Kings University, Odeomu. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Future Builders Initiative (FBi), a development-focused nonprofit organization in Osun State. FBi works in the areas of democracy and governance, peacebuilding, and community development. His strategic planning, program management and team leadership skills have played a crucial role in creating impactful initiatives that empower and provide educational and leadership development opportunities to young people in underprivileged communities
Opeyemi’s 4 years of experience (2019-2023) as a legislative aide at the House of Representatives, National Assembly of Nigeria, further showcase his expertise in policy advocacy and legislative processes. During his tenure, he conducted extensive research, developed policy proposals, and contributed to the development of new laws and policies. His ability to foster strong relationships with key stakeholders has been instrumental in driving positive change within the legislative arena.
His commitment to community service extends beyond his professional roles. He has actively volunteered with reputable organizations such as Global Rights Nigeria, YIAGA Africa, the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), Raising New Voices Initiative, and the Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI) contributing to projects focused on enhancing civil society frameworks and promoting transparency in the democratic and electoral processes. His experience in conducting research, monitoring, and documenting proceedings has allowed him to provide valuable insights and contribute to the overall success of these initiatives.
He is a fellow of the Emerging Political Leaders Fellow (EPLF), Friedrich Ebert Stiftung – Open Minds, Young Voices (OMYV), New Voices Citizens Fellowship (NVCF), and African ChangeMakers Fellow and an alumnus of the Community Organizing Institute (COI) of Yiaga Africa.
